Operation Access began serving residents of Alameda County in 1998. There are eight medical centers, 167 medical volunteers, complimented by four provider groups in county. Alameda County is also the home of the Eye Clinic at Kaiser Union City. This clinic began in 2007 and has since continued to operate monthly. Highland Hospital operates in Alameda and sees most Alameda residents. With the large population of uninsured patients in the county, Operation Access's capacity to provide donated care is a great asset to the healthcare safety net. Operation Access continues to operate at a high level in Alameda and welcomes any and all volunteers from the area.
