Operation Access's San Francisco County Program started in 1994 with agreements with Kaiser Permanente and California Pacific Medical Center. Currently, three medical centers, three provider groups, 12 community clinics, and more than 180 medical volunteers in San Francisco County participate in our program. Since OA's inception, numerous low-income uninsured Bay Area residents have received surgical and specialty care donated by these medical centers through Operation Access. The City and County of San Francisco established Healthy San Francisco in 2007, which has allowed county residents to gain access to primary and preventive care, as well as specialty care. The San Francisco Program also actively participates in the San Francisco Community Benefit Partnership group.
